The horizontal slurry pump is a horizontal centrifugal wear‑resistant pump. It is mainly used to transport abrasive slurries containing solid particles. Widely applied in mining, coal washing, metallurgy, electric power, building materials, environmental dredging and other industries, it serves as core equipment for industrial and mining facilities to convey media such as mud, slag, tailings and ash residue.
Working Principle
The motor drives the pump shaft to rotate via the coupling. The high‑speed rotating impeller acts on the slurry, and suction and discharge of particle‑laden media are realized by centrifugal force. Solid particles such as sand and slag in the medium pass through the pump together with the fluid to complete transportation.
Structural Features
1. Wear‑resistant wetted parts: Impellers, casings and liners are mostly cast from high‑chromium wear‑resistant alloy. They resist erosion and abrasion for particle‑bearing media. These major wearing parts can be replaced separately.
2. Integrated horizontal base design: The pump and motor are mounted on a common cast‑iron base for easy assembly, stable operation and convenient on‑site installation and maintenance.
3. Shaft seal options: Packing seal or mechanical seal are available for different working conditions to reduce slurry leakage.
4. Flanged inlet & outlet: Large‑diameter flanged connections with wide flow passages help avoid blockage by solid particles.
5. Transmission modes: Direct coupling drive or belt‑pulley drive are available to meet different speed requirements.Applicable Media
For slurries mixed with solid particles including sand, ore grit, coal slurry, tailings and ash residue. **Not suitable for clean water delivery**.
